The Blizzard of 2014 – Realtors Helping Those in Need

Two days after the Blizzard of 2014 in Michigan, Broker/Owner Ben Latocki and his brother, agent Cory Latocki, decided to take a couple shovels and a snow blower out to see if they could help those in need.

“We are out with the snow blower and a couple shovels helping people clear their sidewalks and driveways. If you know anyone that needs help, let Production Realty know.”

After helping a few of our customers, Ben and Cory started taking requests on facebook. They drove all over Jackson County in -20 degree weather helping the elderly or disabled clear their driveways and sidewalks.

The cold was unbelievable.  The wind could take your breath away. The roads had not been cleared making travel without a 4×4 vehicle almost impossible.

One gentlemen who needed help had not made it out of his driveway for his daily doctor appointments in three days.  His family had tried to clear a path with shovels, but the was cold too much.  That one success story made it all worth it.

Ben and Cory both said they had a blast, and would do it again in a heartbeat.  Just hoping it’s not this year…
