Today we had the privilege of getting a tour of the Jackson Fire Department – and we had a blast! It was such an experience, watching my husband and daughter (okay, and me too) wide-eyed and in awe of the big shiny trucks, loads of equipment, buttons and levers and sirens and horns.
We got to see where the Firemen eat and congregate; we talked to a few of them and even bought a couple of sweatshirts for breast cancer awareness month. This speaks volumes because even though they are busy fighting fires, helping those who may be injured or in need of help, and performing the myriad of other duties that keep our community safe and comfortable, they also work hard for worthy charitable causes.
